Weeds taking over
Bare soil fills with weeds within weeks. A properly prepared base with a weed membrane underneath keeps them down, and the odd one at the edge pulls out easily.
A lawn that did not survive
One summer without water is often enough to lose a real lawn. Artificial grass needs no watering to stay green.
Irrigation you cannot check
A timer stops or a pipe leaks while nobody is there. With no lawn to water, that part of the system is no longer needed.
Sand, dust and leaves
The wind leaves sand and leaves in every corner. On artificial grass they come off quickly with a leaf blower or hose.

On this stretch of coast the sun is strong for most of the year, rain is scarce and the sea breeze carries salt and fine sand. Artificial grass is made for outdoor use, but living near the sea does change how it is best looked after.
Salt and sand settle between the fibres. What works best is a rinse with fresh water now and then, followed by brushing against the grain so the fibres stand up again. In strong sun the surface warms up; a quick spray of water cools it down.

Looking after it between visits
Artificial grass needs little care, but not none. A few simple habits keep it looking its best.

Maintenance and repairs, even if we did not install it
If you would rather not do it yourself, we can do it for you: cleaning, brushing and sand top-up, plus repairs such as open joins, lifted areas or patches. That includes lawns laid by someone else. Do you also cover Orihuela Costa, La Zenia and the rest of Alicante?
Yes. As well as Torrevieja, we work in Orihuela Costa, including La Zenia, and across Alicante province. Put your address in the form and we will arrange a visit to measure.
Can I get a quote if I only live here part of the year?
Of course. We only need to coincide once so we can measure; everything else is agreed in writing.
How much does artificial grass cost?
It depends on the area, the type of grass, the state of the ground and access. Removing old gravel or a dead lawn also counts. We give you a fixed written quote after the visit.
Does salt air damage artificial grass?
It is designed for outdoor use. Near the sea, an occasional rinse with fresh water is usually all it needs.
Can it be laid on a tiled solarium?
Yes, glued onto the tiles without drilling, after checking falls and drains.
Is it suitable for dogs?
Yes. Pick up solids, rinse with water and use an enzyme cleaner if needed. A well-drained base helps prevent odours.
